FPMA is announcing a new online training course which will bring FPMA members into compliance with the new OSHA training requirements for the Revised Hazard Communication Standard. OSHA has announced (see OSHA Fact Sheet) that it will be phasing in a new Hazard Communications Standard (HCS) that will align with the United Nations’ Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals. Two significant changes contained in the revised standard require the use of new labeling elements and a standardized format for Safety Data Sheets (SDS's) formally known as, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS's).
The first compliance date of the revised HCS is December 1, 2013. By this time OSHA expects employers to have trained their workers on the new label elements and the SDS format. The online course being offered by FPMA will meet the new training requirement being mandated by OSHA. Please click to take advantage of a special FPMA member price of 19.95 for this mandatory training.
